Wow! We've been invited to speak and exhibit at MySQL's annual global conference.
MySQLConf08 is the largest gathering of MySQL developers, users, and DBAs worldwide, and we're honoured to be an official part of it.
Our speaking slot will feature me on "Upgrading to elegant and versatile database architecture using PHP5 Data Objects," a technical talk based on our experience building SilverStripe's database abstraction layer, which got a real boost from Philipp Krenn last year.
If you're in Silicon Valley this April then register your atttendance and come listen, and find us at our exhibition space!
Exhibition space is expensive at major conferences and talking slots are a real privilege, so we're very thankful to MySQL's generosity in supporting open source projects like ours, and in particular to Lenz Grimmer of MySQL who brought about our attendance:
"While judging what would be considered the world's primary CMS awards, I was struck by what I saw when evaluating SilverStripe. SilverStripe is a technically-elegant product with a vibrant and growing developer community around it; just the sort of thing to demonstrate at our global conference as an example of what can be done with MySQL."
