San Francisco meet-up: July 12

We really want to meet fellow SilverStripe users and developers in San Francisco, so join us for a coffee, lunch, or beer this weekend.

If you're new and interested in what SilverStripe can do, want to meet other locals using SilverStripe, or if you've been using it for some time and want to pass on ideas and feedback, we'd love to see you.

Back from San Francisco

We've just returned from a trip to San Fransisco, where we exhibited and spoke at at the global MySQL Conference held in Santa Clara.

We met with hundreds of people, received very positive feedback about our presentation (slides and resources now online), and secured commercial business.  We're also seeing our developer community grow as a result, as April has already topped our all-time high for our software downloads.

SilverStripe at Silicon Valley NewTech meetup

One of our biggest and most attentive audiences I presented to while in the states was at the Silicon Valley New Tech meetup in the south of San Francisco. A very full room listened to presentations by me and others; see pictures and read  write up by Brian Solis. I was grateful to the people who listened attentively and asked intelligent questions, mainly to do with how SilverStripe compared with other systems out there. Thanks for keeping me on the spot!

Those in the bay area should definately RSVP for the October event, now that I see next month's is already booked out!

American Visit

Two of SilverStripe's founders will be in America soon to help build the open source community around SilverStripe. Sam Minnee (CTO, and the architect of how SilverStripe was put together) and Sigurd (CMO) are jet-setting from our home town of Wellington, New Zealand bound for;

• Portland (22-31 July. We're presenting at and attending OSCON)
• San Francisco (1-6 August for Sam, 1-14 August for Sig)
• Chicago (14-21 August for Sig only)
• Los Angeles (21-23 August for Sig only)
