Welcome to our newly re-designed website! The launch of our new SilverStripe.com and SilverStripe.org sites is a big deal to us and we hope you find the changes useful.
One of the things we wanted to improve over the old SilverStripe.com site was to have a more clear distinction between information about our open source software and information about our company. We got a lot of feedback from developers and clients which centered around the fact that they couldn't find what they needed on our site. So we decided to create SilverStripe.org and have that as the home for all things related to our open source product.
Behind the scenes of SilverStripe, three experienced business experts have provided our company with years of valuable external perspective; offering ideas, challenges, experience, and inspiration.
Pictured below, they are:
In keeping up with the demand for services from commercial SilverStripe clients, and in doubling our office space today, we have recently employed five new staff in our Wellington office.
We welcome James Kirkus-Lamont, a full time multi-disciplinary designer. He will add a real touch of design that will be offered to our commercial clients as well as directly for the SilverStripe software and company.
We all knew that the internet is overtaking television, but finally there is proof! To accomodate new staff, SilverStripe's offices are moving from the third to the fifth floor of our building (Symes De Silva, 97-99 Courtenay Place, in the Wellington CBD.)
The space we're moving into is twice the size, and were previously tenanted by a television station that has downsized.
June marks the arrival of Sibylle Schwarz to our team. She is an experienced senior project manager who is working full time to help ensure we deliver amazing work for SilverStripe's commercial clients. Welcome Sibylle!
Tim Copeland, one of SilverStripe's founders, is set to spend a month touring Africa before setting up in the United Kingdom for a number of months. He will be exploring opportunities to build up the commercial client base and developer community in the UK. Sigurd Magnusson will be the primary contact for new commercial enquiries whilst Tim is away.
We're pleased to welcome Mark Rickerby as our most recent full-time developer at SilverStripe. He brings years of experience with many of the country's best web development and design companies, and was on the look-out to apply his skills on a longer-term, bigger software package.
Mark also had the honour of representing New Zealand to compete against Australia in a recent competition to build a fully-operational website for a non-profit organisation in 24 hours, with no excuses, no extensions, and no budget overruns. As the sole programmer on the team, Mark helped the submission by New Zealand beat the Australian submission. Awesome effort!
SilverStripe is growing! We're on the lookout for a fantastic developer to help rock the world with the core development team.

Update: Friday 18th of Janurary
Today marks the first official day back for us in 2008.
You can now expect our full commercial services, as well as our regular and helpful presence on our forums, mailing lists and IRC. We hope your Christmas all went well and that you had a wonderful few weeks full of rest and relaxation.

Our CEO, Brian Calhoun, has started a stream of thought-provoking articles at the newly launched Brian's Blog. Most recently he's written about SilverStripe's human approach, and how the Ministry of Justice, who set many of the trends the rest of the New Zealand central government follow, is boldly advocating open source software.
Go check out silverstripe.com/brians-blog or subscribe via RSS to get the latest on some of the bigger things that are on Brian's radar.
SilverStripe Limited has been ranked ranked the 113th fastest growing company in the 2007 Deloitte Asia Pacific Technology Fast 500 index, which ranks technology companies across Australia, China (including Hong Kong), India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
As part of the index, Deloitte have compiled a comprehensive report about the 500 companies including reasons for growth and success, perceived threats, business confidence, and acting "green". It is awesome to see an overwhelming trend that successful companies are like-minded to SilverStripe: not only working in the interests of environment, but doing it because they felt it's the right thing to do (rather than a facade to sway the consumer.)
Looking for our Open Source Software? Then head to SilverStripe.org.
