Fresh install missing language include

Hi
After a clean install I get the following error when trying to create a new page
Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/mysite/public_html/silverstripe-v2.2.2/sapphire/core/Core.php on line 133Looking at Core.php it appears to depend on global $lang; which is populated when you include "lang/en_US.php" - but I am not sure why this would not have been automatically included ...
Anyone have thoughts on where this should be included from ?
