Build a website in 24 hours for national pride

Posted by Sigurd on 28 May 2007

Finally, a trans-tasman sports match that will interest me!

New Zealand's Webstock and Australia's WIPA are selecting national 7-person teams to compete in a competition to build a website within 24 hours. The teams will be pitted against each other in August, to produce a website for a non-profit organisation. What's more, this is all in a lead up to a larger international "olympics" to be held in February 2008.

You can register at fullcodepress.com/get-involved/ . The team positions are:

  • Project manager
  • User experience advocate (covers usability and IA)
  • Graphic designer
  • HTML/CSS marker-upper
  • Programmer
  • Content editor/wordsmith
  • (The "captain" will be selected later)
