On the success of the US Democratic Convention site, The Women's Conference and our other recent client work, we have heaps of work on and more coming in. Recently we've been awarded some fantastic projects with a variety of high profile NZ organisations.
We're looking to add to our design team with both a full-time visual designer and a full-time interaction designer. We are constantly adding capability to our design team, and if you meet the requirements below you could be sitting in our Wellington office creating a better web experience for our clients and their customers.
We're looking for an excellent visual designer who can create appealing web design concepts as well as translate brands to the web, giving them life with CSS/HTML and Javascript.
We're also looking for a web interaction designer who can create and inform design strategy, create static and interactive wireframes, and prepare and interpret usability tests, among other things.
We want people who will thrive in a fast-paced environment, using Agile techniques to work with clients and colleagues to create amazing, fresh, chocolaty web goodness.
Here are the specifics of what we're after:
Mandatory
- 3+ years web design experience.
- Excellent skills in Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Excellent CSS/HTML abilities and web standards knowledge.
- A wonderful sense of visual and interaction design.
- Ability and willingness to stun clients with your awesome design-fu.
- Great communication skills.
- Willingness to work full-time out of our office in Wellington CBD (sorry, no telecommuting).
- Ability to thrive in a workplace that plays a variety of music every day.
- An online portfolio with your latest work.
Desired
- If you have experience integrating your designs into web systems like SilverStripe, Drupal, Ruby on Rails or Wordpress that would be helpful.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Javascript development experience (JQuery experience is preferable.)

Office Support/Receptionist
At SilverStripe, we create websites and applications that help our clients run their business. We are looking for a young, vibrant, hardworking, confident and motivated receptionist to be our office support superstar!
Support activities include but are not limited to:
- Running front desk.
- Meeting and greeting clients.
- Ensuring clients are attended to in a timely manner regarding their support queries.
- Testing - ensuring websites undergo adequate testing before sign off and completion.
- Maintenance of office supplies.
- Be the 'go to' person others turn to when help is required.
We are looking for someone with outstanding frontline and administration experience. This is a key role to all functions of the company, so a willingness to contribute wherever help is needed is highly desirable.
Strong telephone and administration skills are compulsory for this role. Previous experience in copy editing and working with Macs is helpful.

A fantastic opportunity for an energetic sales administrator to play a key part in New Zealand's leading web firm!

We're looking to grow our Sales & Marketing team with the addition of an outstanding administrator. This role involves providing exceptional support to a busy team, working with sales proposals and taking ownership for management of bids.
Experience in working to deadlines is essential. Having exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to manage your own day are the key skills required to be successful in this role.
Candidates who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and can work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a positive attitude and customer focus will excel in this role. Any experience working in the web industry or technology sector would be a huge advantage.

Senior PHP Developer

We're looking to add to our development team with a fantastic full-time PHP developer. We are constantly adding awesome tech to our open source web development framework and if you meet the requirements below you could be sitting in our Wellington office building web apps for our clients and contributing to our open source framework.
Are you keen to create web applications in PHP that can change the weather? Teach the world to sing? Make comic book characters come to life? If yes, then we want to talk to you.
This is a key role because you'll be working on some leading-edge websites and you'll have the chance to contribute to the core of the open source SilverStripe Framework and CMS. We're looking for someone who is excellent in PHP but willing to dive in to Python, bash, or other languages with diligence and eagerness. We want someone who will thrive in a fast-paced environment, using Agile techniques to work with clients/colleagues to create amazing, fresh, chocolaty web goodness.
Here are the specifics of what we're after:
Mandatory
- 4+ years PHP development experience. Some backend experience would be very useful. By "backend" we specifically mean database and middle (business logic) layer. Included in your PHP experience you will need to have professional experience with PHP's object-orientation.
- Development (not user) experience with at least one content management, wiki, or blogging system.
- Desire to contribute to the SilverStripe core technology.
- Ability and willingness to work with clients.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work full-time out of our office in Wellington CBD (sorry, no telecommuting.)
- Ability to thrive in a workplace that plays a variety of music every day.
Desired
- Excellent CSS or HTML abilities.
- Experience with our MVC / ORM web framework, Sapphire. If you have experience with Symfony, CakePHP, Rails, or Django, that would be helpful.
- A wonderful sense of visual or interaction design.
- Experience being a part of Agile projects.
- Javascript development experience (Prototype or JQuery experience is preferable.)
