Change of watch

Posted by Sigurd on 27 March 2007

We've recently had three new additions to the SilverStripe team, and have said farewell to our first employee (who's the second person in five years to leave, giving nearly one and a half years notice!)

Simon Gow is off for his big OE to Germany. Being the first employee of SilverStripe, we figured he was worldly enough to set off with just a travel guide, a toilet pack, and an FHM. Judging from the picture at his farewell dinner, he seemed to agree...

We couldn't be happier with who is filling Simon's shoes. Cj Wells has migrated her workplace to the fun end of town and is our new open source community manager. She's also in charge of support. Cj has worked on a number of government websites, and is a strong advocate of open standards. She brings a tonne of knowledge and passion to SilverStripe. We're absolutely thrilled she's now part of our team.

We're also welcoming Romain Louis to our core development team. He was looking for an excuse to skip the European summer for some quality Wellington wind, so be sure to look out for a French twist to SilverStripe over his six month internship here.

We are also delighted to formally welcome Brian Calhoun as part of the team. Brian has been working with us on Perweek for the past six months, and has recently taken up the challenge of leading our development teams. Brian has nearly two decades of experience in the software field, and has a significant amount of experience in leading and managing complex projects, much of which was gained working for companies such as Oracle and Lockheed Martin in Silicon Valley.

We are still actively looking out for more skilled programmers to join the team, if you are one, or know of any, get in touch :-)
