Demo.SilverStripe.Com now showcases the amazing new features of SilverStripe 2.2.0, so go check it out the new features and interface!
One of the major new features of SilverStripe 2.2 is multilingual support.
Romain has translated the demo website to French, and you can also check out the translated back end too, for example by logging in as "french" and "password".
SilverStripe.com has been running 2.2.0rc1 since it came out, and we've been loving the improved interface and how tasks like uploading multiple images, resizing them, and adding them to a page has become a seemless, incredibly easy process.
Other great stuff to check out on the demo:
- Crop and rotate images online (movie)
- Publish several pages at once using "Batch Actions".
- As well as browsing, you can search for pages inside the CMS, to help with large sites.
- The updated newsletter system
- Improved support for Safari 3 browser

Henk, we needed to get rid of the icons as we are starting to get pushed for space up the top tabs as you can see from the screenshot. And one of the goals with this was to reduce some visual clutter.
It does look a tad blocky but this was just the start of a slow process in redesigning the cms. The end goal is a much more lighter design with more of that blue and a redesigned TinyMCE editorPosted by Will, 25/11/2007 8:52pm (10 months ago)

Hmm, I think I liked the icons in the top bar. They used to seperate the bar visually from the rest of the admin panel. Ditto for the sideway Site Map / History / Reports. Making the admin look a bit panel less blocky would be nice.
