Forum Reorganised

Posted by Sigurd on 8 November 2007

We've made some improvements to the online infrastructure that runs the SilverStripe community.

The Bugs, Contributions, and Feature Request forums were replaced with a proper issue tracker and patch submission system so these forums have now been removed. There's now a prominent explanation at the bottom of the forum overview

Likewise, the Core Discussion forum has turned into a mailing list, to speed up conversation. Finally, Google Summer of Code has finished for the year.

The result is a simplified forum with four areas:

Website Authors

This a new forum to recognise that with thousands of people downloading SilverStripe each month, there is a community of non-developers using SilverStripe to manage their websites.

Site Builders

This is where all the developers building websites can chat, ask questions, and get answers.
Posts from the old "Bugs" forum have been put here.

Extending & Hacking

When you're doing more than just building a site, but actually extending and hacking SilverStripe, you've now got a high-traffic forum. For this reason, posts from the Google Summer of Code, Themes, Core Discussion, Contributions, Feature Requests and SilverStripe Development forums have been moved here.

Showcase

This continues to be the home of where your cool themes, sites, ideas and code can bask in glory.
