Google Summer of Code Fruit #2: Internationalisation

Posted by Sigurd on 9 July 2007

Big ups to Bernat! We're half way through the Google Summer of Code project, and thus far he has nearly completed the ability for the CMS to be translated into multiple languages. Given he's based in Barcelona, he has also supplied much of the Spanish translation...

In the remainder of the project, the CMS translation work will be completed with several European languages. We will also have a system in place for volunteers to supply translations...

Multilingual Back/Frontend is a MUST HAVE for a good CMS.

  • The Google Summer of Code projects all end in late August, so it shouldn't be long after that. We will probably want to do some preliminary testing so betas may be out earlier than that depending on progress.

  • Congratulations on the progress Bernat!

Enabling translations will definitely help SilverStripe become even more popular! :)
