Julian Meadow

Project Manager

Julian (aka J) started exploring his technical abilities at a young age by taking apart household appliances. His first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ and for his degree he connected an Apple IIe to a scanning electron microscope. After moving to NZ from London in the late 80's, he designed computer networks, saw the internet wave looming and jumped onto it. When Mt Ruapehu erupted in 1995 he pointed a web camera at it and called it Volcano-Cam. Ever since, he's been driven to applying internet technology in innovative and interesting ways, to meet both user and business needs.

Julian joined the SilverStripe project management team in July 2009. His role also extends to information architecture, interaction design, and web usability. Prior to SilverStripe, Julian has led web projects and architected sites for over 14 years, including numerous government and commercial sites in New Zealand. He has an eye for user centered design and is passionate about building both useful and usable websites.

When he's not working or running around after his two kids, Julian enjoys VJ-ing, developing interactive video installations and building the occasional lighting sculpture.
