We're proud to announce that SilverStripe v2.2.2 can now be downloaded. It fixes hundreds of bugs and adds a few new features, such as a paste from Microsoft Word button in the editor!

Thanks to the community for helping to raise and solve some of the bugs, and for being patient while we worked on this release.
One of the areas where the community has helped a lot is with new translations, such as Sinhalese. European languages also got a boost, with interface translations for Dannish, Finnish, Esperanto, and the less-well known country of LOLCAT also being included.
Under the hood, version 2.2.2 introduces unit tests, so look out for some upcoming documentation on how to easily use unit testing to make your projects more reliable.

Creating a windows executable file that bundelled SilverStripe with the necessary webserver, MySQL database server, and PHP created a fast and easy way to get SilverStripe running on Windows. Unfortunately it is time consuming to produce, and it stole time away from other core work. As of version 2.2.2 we won't be providing the .EXE windows installer, and so have provided easy instructions on how to get SilverStripe running on your local Windows (or Macintosh) computer if it is not currently running as a PHP-based webserver.
